BCSE openes financial literacy week
From March 16 to 22, 2026, the Financial Literacy Week for Children and Youth is held in Belarus – an information campaign aimed at increasing children and youth’s awareness of finances, which is held annually in March all over the world. The information campaign is traditionally coordinated by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
The theme of the week in 2026 is “Digital Finance.”
In keeping with tradition, the official opening ceremony of the Week was held on March 16, 2026, at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange, jointly with the Association of Securities Market Participants. At 10:00 a.m., schoolchildren from Minsk Secondary School No. 52 symbolically rang the bell to launch numerous educational events on financial literacy for the younger generation across the country. Schools from 96 districts across Belarus, from the capital to small agricultural towns and villages, joined the online broadcast, with approximately 500 applications submitted to participate in the ceremony remotely.
Andrei Aukhimenia, BCSE Chairman of the Board, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech: “Every year, this important initiative launches on BCSE, as it is the central entity in the country’s organized financial market. The grand opening is traditionally accompanied by the ringing of the exchange bell.”
BCSE specialists conducted an interactive lesson for the schoolchildren, explaining:
– How to accumulate personal funds and avoid mistakes using exchange instruments;
– How to analyze expenses and keep track of income and expenses;
– How smart services work to help you save and pay bills on time;
– What financial technologies are developing in Belarus and how to apply them in everyday life;
– How artificial intelligence can protect your money and provide useful advice.
Particular attention was paid to security issues: how to recognize scammers early, protect your funds, and maintain control over your personal finances in the digital environment.
A financial quiz organized by BCSE helped reinforce this knowledge. The lesson culminated in a stock exchange auction, where schoolchildren “acquired” valuable prizes using symbolic “financial literacy currency” earned by answering correctly.
Financial Literacy Week is more than just an event; it’s an investment in the future.
The knowledge gained will help young people:
– plan a budget and avoid debt traps;
– use digital financial instruments effectively;
– protect themselves from online fraud;
– build financial independence today.
