BCSE and the Ministry of Natural Resources signed a Cooperation Agreement on Green Financing
On August 19, 2025, during the opening ceremony of the III International Specialized Exhibition «Ecology Expo – 2025», which brought together leading climate experts, government officials, and the financial sector, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE) and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus (Ministry of Natural Resources).
The agreement aims to develop green financing mechanisms and the carbon trading in the Republic of Belarus. It places particular emphasis on the creation of a universal “green” trading platform based on BCSE, which will ensure the registration of rights to greenhouse gas emission quotas and their trading within the framework of national carbon regulation. The Ministry of Natural Resources expressed support for the initiative, emphasizing its importance for fulfilling the country’s climate commitments and building a sustainable economy.
BCSE Chairman of the Board Andrei Aukhimenia presented The Role of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange in the Development of Green Financing Mechanisms in the Republic of Belarus at the open dialogue platform “The Third Nationally Determined Contribution of the Republic of Belarus to the Paris Agreement (NDC)”.
In his presentation, he underlined key areas of the BCSE work in creating an infrastructure for quotas trading, developing a regulatory framework, and implementing exchange-traded sustainable investment instruments. The Chairman of the Board noted that BCSE is actively working to develop a regulatory and technological framework for the development of the carbon credit market, drawing on international experience and best practices.
The presentation generated keen interest among participants and served as a starting point for an exchange of ideas on how to combine the efforts of financial institutions and regulators in solving climate issues.
