BCSE Board Chairman on HY 2026 Results
The first half of 2026 was a period of robust growth for the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE) and the launch of strategically important projects that open up new opportunities in the country’s financial market for a wide range of citizens and businesses. Total exchange trading volume during the reporting period exceeded BYN 40.2. The currency market, as always, accounted for the largest share, exceeding BYN 32.2 billion, an increase of 2.5 percent compared to last year. The stock market demonstrated particularly impressive growth: trading volume increased by almost 47 percent and reached BYN 5.2 billion.
Demand for stocks and bonds is breaking records
The stock market demonstrated a significant increase in activity. Trading volume amounted to BYN 49 million – 4.6 times more than in the same period of 2025.
Large share purchases by strategic investors were the driving force behind the growth, accounting for the bulk of the increase in turnover.
The bond market also performed well. Total trading volume exceeded BYN 5.1 billion (up 45.6 percent), with both primary placements (up 61 percent) and secondary placements (up 42 percent) growing. As of July 1, 1,830 share issues and 606 bond issues were traded on BCSE, and the total bond value approached BYN 47.2 billion, an increase of 14.17 percent year-on-year, noted Andrei Aukhimenia, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange. Among the most popular securities during the first half of the year were bonds of Sberbank, Bank BelVEB, MTbank, Bank Dabrabyt, and Alfa-Bank, while in the corporate segment, the shares of Aigenis, Zvezda Stolitsy, and TD Komplekt were among the most popular. Among stocks, investors most frequently chosed Priorbank, ASB Belarusbank, Sberbank, as well as Turov Dairy Plant and Borisovintertrans.
Transparency and Order
One of the key events of the first half of the year was the launch of cash trading in June 2026 – a fundamentally new segment of the exchange market aimed at providing banks and non-banking credit and financial institutions with a transparent and efficient mechanism for the redistribution of cash.
“In simple terms, market participants can now buy and sell cash rubles and foreign currency to each other in an organized manner, which helps optimize collection costs, reduce cash shortages or surpluses at cash desks, and ultimately ensure uninterrupted service to citizens and businesses,” explained Andrei Aukhimenia.
Now participants have a clear platform with uniform rules: BCSE has developed specialized software and approved a regulatory framework. As a result, the cash market has become a tool that increases settlement transparency, reduces participant risks, and sets a benchmark for the cost of cash for the entire financial system.
In one click
Another strategic project of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange was the development of the financial platform Finmarket, launched in late 2025. It was created as a unified digital marketplace for financial services, where individuals can directly access securities and other financial instruments without the intermediary of professional market participants.
“Essentially, Finmarket is a kind of ‘one-stop shop’ for financial products: the platform allows users to purchase bonds and stocks, and in the future, bank deposits, loans, and insurance policies from various organizations will also be available. Users will be able to compare terms and choose the most advantageous offers. In the first half of the year, platform participants were given the opportunity to top up their trading accounts through the ERIP system. Thus, Finmarket is becoming a one-stop shop for ordinary people to manage their finances without leaving home,” noted the Chairman of the BCSE Board. The first half of 2026 demonstrated that the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange is not simply increasing its turnover, but is consistently building a modern financial infrastructure. New markets and digital services are bringing BCSE closer to the real economy and the average investor, meaning the country’s stock market has the potential to become truly mainstream.
