BCSE Chairman of the Board took part in international chess tournament dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the United Nations

In honor of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, the International Team Tournament “Chess for Peace” was held in Minsk on September 19-20. Professional chess players, including grandmasters, young talents, diplomats, UN staff, representatives of business, and national partners met on the same platform.

Andrei Aukhimenia, BCSE Chairman of the Board, participated as part of the UN Global Compact team in the Republic of Belarus – an initiative uniting business and civil society around the Sustainable Development Goals.

The participation of a BCSE representative in the tournament symbolized the commitment of the Belarusian financial sector to the principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and international partnership.

“It’s important for us to be part of the global dialogue and demonstrate that Belarusian businesses are ready to contribute to a sustainable future. The tournament became not only a sporting event but also a platform for exchanging ideas and strengthening partnerships,” noted Andrei Aukhimenia.

Following the tournament, the BCSE Chairman of the Board was awarded a commemorative medal for his contribution to the development of international cooperation and the promotion of UN values.

The event took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect, reflecting the key principles of the UN: peace, cooperation, and sustainable development. The UN Global Compact team in Belarus demonstrated a high level of preparation and team spirit, and the participation of representatives of the country’s leading organizations marked an important step towards a more open and sustainable society.
