Twenty years have passed since the first trading operation at the Baku Stock Exchange
September 2020 is an important date for capital markets, one of the youngest sectors of the Azerbaijani economy. Hence, 20 years have passed since the beginning of securities trading in the history of our independence. During this period, the Baku Stock Exchange, acting as the sole organizer of the regulated market, remained true to its mission and made an invaluable contribution to the development of the trading environment.
The Baku Stock Exchange, having provided favorable conditions for over $100 billion worth of trading operations for twenty years, has witnessed many important events in the local financial markets and constantly contributes to the development of the country’s economy. At the same period, the Baku Stock Exchange, being the leader in the region, not only provided technical solutions to market participants, but also consistently created a reliable and transparent trading environment for market participants. Over twenty years, the Exchange has also implemented a number of innovative ideas in the field of investor protection.
