BCSE contributed to the planting of 20,000 trees as part of the Forest! Goodness! Order! and UN Global Compact campaign

The Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE) joined the national volunteer campaign Forest! Goodness! Order! Representatives of the financial sector worked as part of a unified team of Belarusian participants in the UN Global Compact Network.

As part of this joint initiative, Global Compact participants in Belarus planted 20,000 trees in the Dzerzhinsk and Zaslavl forestry districts. This combined effort from various business sectors underscores the companies’ strategic commitment to sustainable development principles and their willingness to take tangible action under global United Nations initiatives. This event represented a conscious, practical contribution by the Belarusian business community to achieving key UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 13 – Climate Action;

SDG 15 – Life on Land;

SDG 17 – Partnerships for Sustainable Development (cooperation between business, government, and society).

Participation in the event reflects the deep commitment of BCSE to the UN Global Compact principles, the leading UN global initiative promoting responsible business. Financial sector companies consistently integrate these values ​​into their corporate culture, demonstrating that financial institutions play a key role in the transition to a green economy.

Beyond its environmental significance, the event served as a powerful unifying factor for teams. Working together outdoors strengthened team spirit and increased personal motivation. Participants noted that such events foster an environmental culture within organizations, from understanding personal responsibility for nature to implementing green standards in office operations.

It’s wonderful that this initiative was supported by our colleagues from the Association of Securities Market Participants and our UN Global Compact partners. Such actions unite people better than words,” noted Andrei Aukhimenia, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.

Participation in such initiatives is part of the long-term strategy of BCSE aimed at promoting climate resilience in Belarus and preserving its natural resources.
