BUCE and UzEx sign cooperation agreement

BUCE and UzEx sign cooperation agreement

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UzEx) intend to consolidate experience, resources, and technological competencies to reach a higher level of cooperation in all strategic areas, including:

  • mutual access of Belarusian and Uzbek enterprises to the exchange markets of the two countries,
  • simplification of procurement activities,
  • exchange of analytical information, and
  • implementation of joint projects.

These arrangements are stipulated by a cooperation agreement on facilitating the participation of commercial entities of Belarus and Uzbekistan in trading on the electronic platforms of UzEx and BUCE.

The signing ceremony took place at the BUCE headquarters as a result of the visit by a UzEx delegation led by Chairman of the Board Asadulla Kayumov. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nuriddin Mamajonov also took part in the event.

BUCE Chairman of the Board Aleksandr Osmolovsky noted, Uzbekistan is one of the key trade partners of the exchange while market participants from this country regularly rank among the top five in terms of exchange transaction volumes.

“Uzbek private sector actively uses the entire spectrum of capabilities of our exchange, which positively affects trade dynamics and ensures its steady growth. In particular, in H1 2026 the sum of transactions of Uzbek participants increased by 21% year-on-year while the number of accredited companies from Uzbekistan reached 281. This is one of the highest figures among all countries represented on our trading platform,” he stressed.

Special attention during negotiations between the leadership of the two exchanges was paid to advancing cooperation in public procurement. UzEx is the main operator of the electronic public procurement system in Uzbekistan. The system handles virtually the entire volume of trading. The Belarusian side familiarized itself with the operation of the updated public procurement platform new-xarid.uzex.uz launched by UzEx in June 2026.

This platform uses artificial intelligence technologies, allowing purchases to be conducted faster and more transparently, and provides price analysis tools. The possibility of integrating the electronic platforms of BUCE and UzEx to allow Belarusian and Uzbek companies to participate in public and corporate procurement of the two countries is under consideration.

Apart from that, the parties also confirmed their intention to continue joint work on integrating exchange tools into mutual trade and mapped out concrete steps to expand the presence of Uzbek businesses on the Belarusian exchange market.
